When you have to eat crow…

NO, no, no, not me. I usually think twice before talking trash, specially if what I say can be saved for later. After all, who likes to taste the humble pie?

The project in question took me about a week to get done, between getting the materials and the actual work. And I have to say the end result was pretty neat, to the point that I had to make a second one for myself. But as you see above, even not knowing what it was, the ogre was (as always) talking trash.

When you don’t keep your mouth shut, there’s a possibility that you will have to eat the proverbial crow. So this delicacy goes to a stubborn ogre friend that still hasn’t realized that sometimes it’s best to keep your mouth shut.

Feet, beak AND feathers. I’m sure he will let me know how it tasted.

Oh well, let’s see if the bonehead learned the lesson… And more importantly, enjoys the Christmas present 🙂

To hell with Photobucket

That’s it, this was the last straw. I’ve used Photobucket for years, but after that absurd price hike they attempted in 2017, and with all the blackmailing attempts, I went to Flickr. Flickr is a pretty neat photo hosting service, but the fact that they scramble file names after you load them makes manually writing a photo address impossible. And, they’re photo browser stinks, it’s too convoluted to manage your photos.

But then PB reconsidered their stance and things seemed to go back to normal, so in 2018 I went back. Still, there was a LOT of downtime last year. However, for the last month or so, every single time I log on, I get an annoying message that I’m over my bandwidth quota. And if I don’t upgrade my account they’ll shut me down. According to my account data, I’m using about 80% of my bandwidth, so this sounds like they’re trying to bully me to upgrade. And as the cherry on top of the cake, today their servers have been down all day long.

So that’s it, I’m done. SCREW PHOTOBUCKET. I’m migrating all my photos elsewhere and this is the last time they see my money.

Le Mans 1955 – CG animation

The French “Le Mans 1955”, directed by Quentin Baillieux , is a CG animation was released last year. This year it won a few awards and was nominated for quite a bunch more.

The film, about the 1955 Le Mans crash is narrated from the perspective of John Finch, Pierre Levegh’s co-driver. Though the film takes a lot of artistic liberty in terms of historical facts, it shows a view that I for one never had of the accident. The animation style is quite dramatic, but I think it works well to show the tragic event.

Peugeot + Rebellion?

OH YES! It was just announced that Rebellion Racing will partner up with Peugeot for FIA’s 2022 WEC Hypercar season. There aren’t much details out about the partnership, so it’s not clear if Rebellion will still run their R-13 LMP1 car in 2020.

As I said before, this new hypercar class is going to be awesome. With Peugeot committed and Aston Martin and Toyota confirmed, so far we will have three factory teams running hypercars. I’m really looking forward to next year’s season.
