This SATURDAY!!!! 😎😎😎

This was just posted on FIA WEC’s site: Lamborghini will offically race at Le Mans!
Lamborghini Squadra Corse will enter the FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar class in 2024 with its first LMDh prototype, eligible for both FIA WEC and the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship (GTP class).

Obviously Lamborghinis had raced at La Sarthe before, but this will be the first time for a factory effort. For me at least, this was always my gripe with Lamborghini. Looks like I can’t complain anymore.
It was about time! 🐮
😍😍😍

Today Cadillac revealed a small teaser of their upcoming IMSA/WEC Hypercar prototype. They only showed a computer rendering and a very short film on their Instagram account. Therefor, information is so far pretty scarce. If everything goes as planned, the car, co-developed by Dallara and Cadillac Racing, will be ready for the 2023 season. Autosport has a little more to tell.
Things are looking quite bright for 2023…
And today we get news from Peugeot… Their new 9X8 is still undergoing testing, but boy does that car looks ICE cool! Looks like 2023 is going to be quite interesting 🏁.

This past Friday, at the Weissach test track, Porsche rolled-out its new LMDh prototype. Intended for both WEC and IMSA series, the car will be ready later this year. According to Motorsport.com, Team Penske will be responsible for the factory effort in both series in 2023.
For a Porsche fanboy AND a Le Mans nut, that is great news 😎.

Last week (October 1st to 3rd), on the shores of Lake Como in northern Italy, happened the annual Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. The event takes place annually on the grounds near the Villa d’Este hotel in Cernobbio. It usually happens in May, and is possibly the most famous of all the world-class Concours d’Elegance. Petrolicious, as always, wrote a great essay on the event, with some SPECTACULAR photos.
If you want to drool a little, it is worth checking out the link.

Oh yeah! 😎😎😎

Will Toyota win again? Or will Glickenhaus and Alpine have a chance? Once again Toyota is the favorite, however with the good results of the Glickenhaus 007 LMH during tests maybe we’ll have an interesting race. Nothing against Toyota, but it would be nice to see an underdog come on top.

According to Jalopnik, Lamborghini will have a car in LMDh. Therefore, there finally may be a Raging Bull racing as a factory effort at Le Mans! Looks like it will use the same chassis and engine as Porsche and Audi (built by Multimac), however with different bodies, of course.
In June I was bemoaning about Lamborghini NOT having a race heritage. So, will the cars from Sant’Agata Bolognese finally become born-and-bread racers?
Hope so.
