And we’re back to ground 0 again . Oh well, the second time is supposed to be easier, right?
Yay.
To drive a car that was basically an engine and a fuel tank strapped to four wheels over 300 km/h… And to do that while wearing a white overall and an aviation cap (but with goggles) as safety equipment? ![]()
Balls of brass. No, better: steel. That takes balls of steel.
For the 1950 edition of the 24 Heures du Mans, Briggs Cunningham took two Cadillacs to La Sarthe, a Coupe de Ville and the famous Spider “Le Monstre”. Without a doubt one of the most awesome duo of cars to ever race at Le Mans
.
Porsche 962C #6, driven by Jean-Louis Ricci, Henri Pescarolo and Jacques Laffite. Only managed 14th place, but has an AWESOME livery.
And I have one
.

One of the really cool things about Le Mans is that you can see some really wacky cars
. Like this Chevron B36 from 1987. Piloted by José Thibault and Alain Heinrich, it had to abandon after only 18 laps.
Unfortunately, this one is not available in 1:43.
This one was totally new to me. Doing some research on a certain car, I came upon the story of the Whittington Brothers. Courtesy of VINWiki, if you have 10 minutes to spare, sit back and enjoy

Nürburgring has a new record holder!

Porsche’s GT2 RS record of September last year was broken today by the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ by about 2.3 seconds. The new record for the Nordschleife is now in 6:44.97. According to AutoBlog a full video is expected to be presented soon. And it better be a good one, WITHOUT edition like the one Lamborghini made for the Huracán Performante’s supposed record
.
So that means I’ll need one more Lambo for the collection…
