The museum counts with around 1100 cars, and for a gearhead it&#8217;s basically paradise. And to maintain all those cars, they have a team of highly specialized technicians and mechanics exclusively dedicated to the museum&#8217;s cars. Last Tuesday <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/petrolicious.com\/articles\/peeking-under-the-hood-at-the-mercedes-benz-classic-workshop-in-stuttgart\" target=\"_blank\">Petrolicious<\/a> aired a very nice article about  the museum&#8217;s workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d39a3h63xew422.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/23131707\/Robb-Pritchard-Mercedes-Benz-Classic-Workshop-Stuttgart-visit-53-1000x1500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"140\" height=\"210\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly though, the director of Mercedes-Benz Classic recounted the story about why the paint was scraped off the W25 to get the car at the maximum 750 kg limit. However, that&#8217;s a confirmed <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/index.php\/mercedes-benz-w25-prototyp-spark\/\" target=\"_blank\">fairy tale<\/a> made up by Alfred Neubauer in his autobiography. Nothing against a little embellishing of an historical event, but I would expect that the head of such an endeavor as the Mercedes-Benz Classic department would be more factual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fairy tales aside, Petrolicious&#8217; article (full of photos!!) is a treat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mercedes has a HUGE (and fantastic!) museum at Stuttgart.
