Kelleners\nTeam: <em>Porsche AG<\/em>\nRace: DNF (GT1 class) at Le Mans in <strong>1997<\/strong>\nMinichamps - 430976826 (diecast)<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap wp-block-paragraph\">In 1996, Porsche&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/index.php\/porsche-911-gt1-25-minichamps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">911 GT1<\/a> came in first place in the GT1 class at Le Mans. But despite the La Sarthe success, by the end of the year Porsche started evolving the car. This new car became known as the <strong>GT1 Evo<\/strong>. The front body work was revised and headlamps were changed to the fried-egg shape of the new <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.w-143.com\/index.php\/porsche-911-996-gt3-rs-minichamps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">996<\/a>. In terms of performance the car was basically the same as the previous version. It did receive some new aerodynamic elements that improved acceleration, but mechanically it was the same car. However, at Le Mans the GT1 Evo was plagued by reliability issues. Car <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/1997_Porsche_911GT1Evolution-0-1024.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">#26<\/a> abandoned on lap 327 while it\u2019s sister <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/i.wheelsage.org\/pictures\/porsche\/911_gt1_(996)\/autowp.ru_porsche_911_gt1_evo_1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">#25<\/a> abandoned on lap 238, both with mechanical issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/+upload\/porsche\/race911\/porsche_911gt1-97_26_02.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">That paint job was Porsche&#8217;s basic livery from 1996 to 1998.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In scale the model is what I would call an \u201chonest Minichamps\u201d. Very good and accurate shape with an overall nice detail level. However, nothing extraordinary, but in the end a fine model. With that I would say it\u2019s a car only for the Porsche and\/or Le Mans nut. Since the previous GT1 has a much better claim to fame, it would be my pick if I could only have one. But I &#8220;needed&#8221; one to complete the three GT1 series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/+upload\/zgroup\/porsches_39.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">GT1 Evo: fried eggs and plainer livery.
