Jarvis \nTeam: <i>Jackie Chan DC Racing<\/i> \nRace: 2nd overall (1st in LMP2 &nbsp;class) at Le Mans in <strong>2017 <\/strong>\nSpark - S5824 (resin)<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right has-small-font-size\"><span style=\"color: #919191;\">Published 08\/20\/18<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Former French racer Hugues de Chaunac founded ORECA (<i>Organisation Exploitation Comp\u00e9tition Automobiles<\/i>) in 1973. In the beginning it was exclusively a racing team, but that changed in 2007. When ORECA bought sports prototype manufacturer Courage Comp\u00e9tition they started to make their own cars. Their first model was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/index.php\/oreca-01-6-altaya\/\">ORECA 01<\/a>, a LMP1 car first raced in 2009. The company\u2019s latest model is the ORECA 07, a car homologated for the 2017 FIA and ACO LMP2 regulations. The new car was heavily based on the ORECA 05, and used many of the 05\u2019s components. The chassis is a carbon fiber honeycomb monocoque enveloped in a carbon fiber &amp; Kevlar body. The engine used is the Gibson <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailysportscar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/gibson_GK428_V8_01.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GK-428<\/a>, a 4200 cm\u00b3 normally aspirated V8 that produces 603 hp. To tame the cavalry ORECA used a X-Trac six-speed sequential gearbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/+upload\/i-o\/oreca_07_38_02.jpg\" alt=\"ORECA 07\"\/><figcaption>Porsche, Toyota and Audi should take a few lessons in livery creation with ORECA.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The ORECA 07 was a popular car at the <i>24 Heures du Mans<\/i> of 2017. In the LMP2 class, seven teams used the car, in a total of 12 cars. The Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiawec.com\/media\/cache\/news_details\/assets\/fileuploads\/58\/e2\/58e205520b9c0.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jackie Chan DC Racing<\/a> team was one of these teams. They fielded two ORECA 07, cars #37 (chassis #07-37) and #38 (chassis #07-38), and both did well. Jackie Chan\u2019s cars came in first and second place in the LMP2 class, with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.racecar-engineering.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/upORE-1068x694.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#38<\/a> finishing in second place overall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/+upload\/i-o\/oreca_07_38_03.jpg\" alt=\"ORECA 07\"\/><figcaption> It&#8217;s a very complicated livery, but Spark nailed it. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Not counting the podium, what really makes the car stand out is the livery. Almost an art car livery, it looks fantastic, and Spark recreated it exemplary in scale.
