It sports a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, originally from the Gallardo. Though final assembly happens at Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Huracán’s chassis is built by Audi, in Germany. Lamborghini produced the Huracán from 2014 to 2024, with over 20,000 units built. In 2015, in collaboration with Dallara, Lamborghini released the Huracán GT3, for GT racing. In 2019 the car evolved into the Huracán GT3 Evo, with a more powerful engine. Development progressed, and in 2023 came the final version, the Huracán GT3 Evo2. Though engine improvements were minimal, the Evo2 received a far better intake system and aerodynamic package. Lamborghini’s target audience for the GT3 Evo2 was privateer teams, so it fully complies with the FIA 2022 technical regulations. One team that believed in the Huracán GT3 Evo2 was the Iron Dames.

In 2025 Lamborghini replaced the Huracán with the Temerario, a plug-in hybrid.

Founded by Deborah Mayer in 2018, the Iron Dames is an Italian-Swiss auto racing women-exclusive team. According to their website, the Dames is a “project committed to promoting and empowering women to compete on equal terms with men in mixed-gender fields”. Their first race was in the European Le Mans Series, under the banner of Kessel Racing. In 2022 they entered the WEC, using a Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, and very importantly, under their own license. That season they scored three podium finishes in LMGTE-Am. For the following season, out goes the Ferrari, in comes a Porsche 911 RSR. That same year, at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the Iron Dames became the first all-female team to win a WEC race. Results were pretty good, so the 2024 season started out on high spirits. And with a new car: the Huracán GT3 Evo2 (obviously, pink).

At Le Mans in 2024, there were four Lamborghinis in the race.

The Dames debuted chassis #ALSCGT202200132 at FIA’s Prologue Qatar, in February of 2024. Afterwards, they raced at Qatar, Imola, Spa (17th place finish, their best result), Le Mans, São Paulo, and Fuji. In July, they arrived at La Sarthe with their Huracán GT3 sporting a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l pink livery. And I mean BEAUTIFUL, to the point I’m labeling this one as an art car. No, no famous artist signing the livery, but nonetheless a livery to send a message and not just corporate propaganda. Their Huracán GT3 #85 had a somewhat smooth race, yet unfortunately the Dames only managed 32nd place overall. The following month, at Interlagos I was there to see them grab hyperpole during the Saturday afternoon classification sessions. And I was also there for the race on Sunday, to see a broken fuel line smash their hopes. They were in second place in GT3… Heart-wrenching 😥!

In my eyes, the Huracán GT3 #85 is a bona fide art car.

The Iron Dames is a somewhat controversial team in the WEC. Some say the team is only a publicity stunt, while others think they’re totally legit and with true potential. Personally, I’m a big fan. I’ve seen dozens of teams come and go in endurance racing, and I honestly feel the Dames have heart. I think the girls have the talent, but unfortunately they have rotten luck. Take Interlagos as an example. Nonetheless, as a collector, they are very interesting because at least at Le Mans they sport some beautiful cars. Just look at this Huracán GT3 #85 – smashing 😍! Of the whole 2024 Le Mans grid, #85 was one of the most beautiful cars. Yes, grail model! Of course, I must praise Spark, that (again!) did a stellar job. So, even if you’re not a Dames fan, this one is a must have, just because it’s so friggin’ cool.

2024 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 #85Pilots: S.
