At the time ACO announced that for 2010 all LMP1 cars at Le Mans had to be closed-cockpits, so Lola decided to start the project with that in mind. For the 2010 race Rebellion Racing bought two chassis from Lola, and fitted them with Judd engines. The engine (GV5.5) was a V10 with 5496 cm³, 20 valves and DOHC, and was capable of 650 hp. The whole car weighed only 900 kg so it was pretty fast.

Unfortunately though, car #13 (chassis #B0860-HU01) had to abandon the race on it’s 143rd lap because of mechanical problems. In 1:43 it’s a truly beautiful model, that was very well replicated by Ixo. The first thing that catches your eye is the gold paint around the cockpit – absolutely stunning!

I would dare say this is one of those models every race car collector has to have, just because it’s so good looking, independent of race theme. In fact, I’m seriously thinking about getting the #12 sister car…

A broken gearbox striked-out #12 on the 175th lap.

Rebellion Racing is a Swiss racing team that competes in endurance racing, and has been a constant team at La Sarthe since 2008. Lola was their chassis supplier from 2008 until 2013, but for 2014 they started using chassis developed in-house. In 2017 they established a partnership with ORECA and are now outsourcing their chassis again. Back in the 24 Heures du Mans of 2010 the second Rebellion car was car #12. Unfortunately, Lady Luck was not on their side that year. Just like its sister car, B10/60 #12 also had to retire, at the 175th lap due to a broken gearbox. But that chassis faithfully served the team until 2013. In fact, at La Sarthe in 2012 it even scored a fourth place overall.

A beautiful pair! I have a feeling Rebellion cars will get common in my collection.

It definitely took awhile (a looooong while, in fact), but I finally got the #12 sister car . Almost a clone to car #13, and it’s just as beautiful. The white, red & gold livery is absolutely striking. I’m not exactly a big fan of the gold color in general, however in this livery it looks fantastic. All in all, Ixo did a smashing job on the B10/60 #12.

Ixo delivers a great detail level for a very reasonable price.

This model is great proof that Ixo can make some awesome stuff. You get very delicate detailing and a beautiful paint job. You even get photoetched parts. With that, I would say that their racecars are only inferior to Spark’s. And if I factor in price, these cars are some of the best in my whole collection. I would be very happy with this level of detail on all my models. Honestly, it’s more than good enough.

2010 Lola B10/60 Pilots: N. Prost, N. Jani, M.
