The team used the same two chassis of the previous year. However, but for this year they partnered with Toyota to supply their engines. The engine was the all-new RV8KLM, based on Toyota’s Formula Nippon and Super GT engine initially developed in 2010. It was a V8 at 90° with 32 valves and DOHC, displacing 3399 cm³, and with the mandatory ACO air restrictors could produce around 525 hp. The chassis was basically the same B10/60 carbon fiber monocoque used in 2010, but modified with a few aerodynamic upgrades and tweaks to house the smaller new V8 engine, and was called B10/65.

I’m not a fan of gold cars (FAR from that), but this combination of colors look fantastic.

It must be the number, because B10/65 #13 (#B0860-HU01) once again didn’t have much luck at La Sarthe. On the 190th lap it suffered an accident and was out of the race. Ever since I got my first Lola in May last year, I’ve been looking forward to getting more Rebellion cars. Specially because that first one was a fantastic gift from my whipping boy-buddy on Forza 7, Gary. I was lucky to find a Spark version for a good price, and while IT IS more detailed than Ixo’s attempt, I’m honestly happy with what Ixo delivers in terms of bang-for-the-buck.

B10/60 #13 versus B10/65 #13: for the price, I think the Ixo model is the winner.

I haven’t made up my mind if I’ll go after the 2011 #12 sister car. However, I definitively want to get at least one from the 2012 race. The Rebellion liveries are way too cool in my book to have only one or two cars. Or three or four.

Definitively a looker.

2011 Lola B10/65 Pilots: A.
