Caffi\nTeam: <em>Spyder Squadron b. v.<\/em>\nRace: DNF (GT2 class) at Le Mans in 2007\nIxo - LMM225P (diecast)<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right has-small-font-size\"><span style=\"color: #919191;\">Published 03\/24\/18<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">From the beginning, management at Spyker had a great interest in racing, to the point that they had cars racing in high-profile endurance racings AND a F1 team &#8211; no small feat for such a small company. And since racing is NOT cheap, the brand just couldn\u2019t take the financial strain and still be profitable, and according to one of the company\u2019s directors, that\u2019s what brought the manufacturer down. Maybe Spyker\u2019s management was not exactly business savvy but no one can deny their passion for racing, and for the 24 Heures du Mans of 2006, the factory team had two cars in the race. Unfortunately, both cars, <a class=\"postlink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lemans-history.com\/imagens\/\/2006\/le_mans-2006-06-18-085.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#85<\/a> (#XL9GB11HX50363098) and <a class=\"postlink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lemans-history.com\/imagens\/\/2006\/le_mans-2006-06-18-086.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#86<\/a> (#XL9GB11HX50363097), had to abandon because of mechanical failures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/+upload\/p-z\/spyker_c8gt2r_85_02.jpg\" alt=\"GT2-R #85\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For the following year the Spyker Squadron was back, with the same two cars. However, this time with inverted numbers &#8211; #XL9GB11HX50363098 was <a class=\"postlink\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lemans-history.com\/imagens\/\/2007\/7833.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">#86<\/a> and #XL9GB11HX50363097 was <a class=\"postlink\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lemans-history.com\/imagens\/\/2007\/7832.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">#85<\/a>. Unfortunately though, swapping numbers didn\u2019t bring the team any extra luck, and once again both cars had to abandon. I\u2019ll be the first to admit that the C8 is not exactly a gorgeous car to behold. And, the manufacturer is FAR from the <em>garagisti <\/em>that I so much admire from years past. Nonetheless, look at their motto:  <em>Nulla Tenaci invia est via<\/em> (&#8220;For the tenacious no road is impassable&#8221;). You have my attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/+upload\/zgroup\/spykers_01.jpg\" alt=\"GT2-R #85\"\/><figcaption>GT2-R #85 + GT2-R #86. The #85 looks better, if you ask me.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve been wanting a Spyker in the Garage for a long time . In fact, I almost bought the #86 thrice, but other cars got in the way. Recently I found locally the <strong>GT2-R #85<\/strong> but from Spark. I was about to buy it when I found #85 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w-143.com\/index.php\/spyker-c8-spyder-gt2-r-85-ixo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"#86 (opens in a new tab)\">#86<\/a>. Best of all, for less than what I would pay on that one Spark. Since the C8 is far from a grail model, I opted for quantity, and here they are. And I\u2019m pleased: pretty nifty models, with a \u201cgood enough\u201d detail level. And my favorite?
